Grand Tours of Scotland's Lochs
For the last leg of their route 66 odyssey, the bikers are going west to California, the golden state. First, they make a small detour to the city of light, Las Vegas. Si and Dave have been invited by one of the youngest executive chefs in the country to learn how to make the best mashed potato in the world. Inspired by their Las Vegas extravaganza they cook the biggest, poshest lobster and prawn cocktail ever seen. Back on Route 66, they visit the town of Goffs, California. The epicenter of the Wild West where they learn about the homestead scheme and discover the Mojave Desert. After a long ride through the desert, they arrive in Acton following the path of the 49ers during the gold rush. In an authentic rustic saloon, Si unknowingly eats a very modern burger… a vegan burger served by Dave and it's a success. Using one of the saloon's fruit producers, they cook some mesquite chicken with a fennel and peach salad. After riding into Los Angeles, the bikers ditch their bike to try something unique : cooking with Marijuana. It's legal in Los Angeles and the it's the latest culinary trend from Lala-land. The following day, they mix with the locals and discover the best tacos they have ever eaten at the biggest LA taco festival. To celebrate the end of their trip, they cook by the beach in Santa Monica a selection of sliders, which are mini burgers. Beef, fish and haloumi, a slider for everyone. Finally, they ride to the Santa Monica pier to park their bikes and walk to the official end of route 66. Over 3000 miles across nine states, they've done it : Route 66, the mother road and what a trip it's been.
Joining Jools on the second show of the new series are LIAM GALLAGHER, REX ORANGE COUNTY, AMYL AND THE SNIFFERS, KOJEY RADICAL AND CELESTE. Rock 'n' Roll star LIAM GALLAGHER is back with his second triumphant number 1 solo album 'Why Me? Why Not', a nostalgic follow up to his platinum selling number 1 solo debut 'As You Were'. Joining Liam on the drums for "The River" and making his TV debut on the show is his son Gene Gallagher. Not only will Liam perform, but he will be joining Jools for a chat. With a reputation for their raucous gigs and penchant for mullets punk rockers AMYL AND THE SNIFFERS promise to shake up the studio. The Australian four-piece released their self-titled debut earlier this year, packed with punchy short tracks like recent single 'Monsoon Rock', it clocks in at a fast- paced 29 minutes long. We welcome the highly anticipated debut of 21-year-old Surrey singer-songwriter REX ORANGE COUNTY. His forthcoming third album "Pony" was written, recorded and performed almost entirely by the music maestro himself. Contemporary "Renaissance Man" KOJEY RADICAL will be joining us to play tracks from his latest EP 'Cashmere Tears'. The emerging east London rapper is a unique and visually exciting artist who is fast becoming one of the most interesting voices of his generation. Making her debut is promising new singer CELESTE. Hot off the release of hauntingly beautiful single 'Strange'. Born in LA, now based in Brighton via Essex, Celeste draws influence from the greats including Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin whose records made up her grandfather's collection. Completing the line-up is singer and podcast queen JESSIE WARE, who along with co-hosting the Friday night episode will also be joining Jools at the piano for a soul classic.
