Once the contestants have done the shopping for their own items, the experts then take any leftover money and go shopping for more antiques. Any goods purchased by the experts are 'bonus buys'. This fresh new take on the fashion makeover format sees Rylan Clark-Neal at the helm of the department store of dreams. Alongside him are his very own glam squad; five of the UK's most exciting stylists with very different styles and personalities, ready to take on a diverse range of people in need of a significant style overhaul. This week sees Chris, a 6ft 5 personal hygiene salesman who only wears black, looking to inject some colour into his wardrobe while Manny from Leeds has a very different dilemma. At 5ft 3, he's been wearing children's sized clothes for years and is looking for a grown up style with sass. We also meet Rachel, a PE teacher with a trainer addiction who wants to swap gym wear for glamour, while warehouse worker Karen is worried that her work wardrobe is creeping into her weekend. The series also offers universal fashion takeout aplenty, with the stylists diving into their own wardrobes to show how a simple blazer can transform any look. And Rylan provides plenty of behind the scenes entertainment and some laugh out loud moments as he helps his customers get to grips with a whole new way of working their wardrobes.
Based on Malorie Blackman's iconic book series, this show is set in a dangerous, alternate world where Europe was colonised by Aprica (no spelling mistake!). We follow the star-crossed love story of Callum McGregor, a Nought (the white underclass) and Sephy Hadley, a Cross (the black ruling class).which crosses the boundaries of their societies and confronts prejudice against interracial relationships. Our modern western world is flipped on its head as Caucasion norms are subjugated to the dominant Aprican culture. As well as romance, the show is full of drama, politics and action while at the same time making us question our current attitudes towards race and discrimination. A great cast stars Jack Rowan and Masali Baduza in the lead roles with excellent support coming from the likes of Helen Baxendale and Ian Hart.
