A : Working as a 999 call handler helps Iain learn to open up Not ready to return as a paramedic, Iain is working as a 999 call handler. He answers a call from PC Rox Adams, who when investigating a tip-off in a warehouse finds two unconscious drug addicts. Iain talks her through checking their vitals and administering naloxone when he guesses that one of the patients is overdosing. When the patient doesn't improve and Rox starts to cough and mentions their red lips, Iain figures out that they are suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning and orders Rox out of the building. Rox is reluctant to leave the patients, but hearing that she can help by guiding the ambulance team, Rox leaves smashing a window on her way out to get fresh air into the room, disconnecting the call. Dazed on her way out, Rox doesn't see a rapid response bike approaching. The rider swerves to avoid her but skids and badly breaks his leg. Supported by his supervisor, Laura, Iain takes a break but is frustrated that he cannot be out in the field to help. He also fears what people must think of him, having heard his story, but Laura reassures him that they are happy to work with him. Iain struggles with his recovery. He is on medication but buts heads with his therapist, Claire. Not believing that it's working for him, Iain decides to leave therapy. At work, Iain answers a call from Frankie who is trapped in a house fire with her younger sister and her drunk dad. Iain calms her and instructs her to put her dad in the recovery position but Frankie is scared to touch her dad hinting that he has been violent with her. Reaching out, Iain video calls her to find that strong and assured Frankie is just 7 years old and sporting a black eye. This confirms Iain's suspicions, but he calmly instructs her to help her dad until help arrives. Iain, worried for Frankie and her sister, files a formal report. But struggling to let it go, he gets Gem to check on Frankie in the hospital and give her a toy unicorn from him. Gem is excited that Iain is starting to care again but Iain reminds her that it is not that simple. Unable to sleep, Iain reaches out to his therapist Claire who helps him realise that he is so drawn to Frankie because he sees himself in her, as he spent his own childhood looking after an alcoholic parent. Despite this small breakthrough, Iain is not yet able to return to therapy. At work, Iain tries to congratulate a colleague Katy on her engagement but she's in tears as her fiancé isn't well. Iain is taken aback but gets to work and talks Lou and Jodie through delivering surprise twins on the side of a motorway. The whole control room claps when, after difficulty breathing, the babies pull through but Iain doesn't revel in the good news for long. Laura welcomes Iain into the stork club to celebrate his first telephone babies but soon lets slip that Katy's fiancé was involved in an accident and came off his bike. Iain is frustrated that they kept it from him because they were worried but Laura reassures him and praises his work as his quick thinking in spotting carbon monoxide saved his patients. Hearing the radio left on, and seeing Iain fully dressed in a deep sleep with pills on his bedside table, Gem panics and shakes him awake. Iain is startled by the intrusion, as it's just his medication on his bedside table, but realises that Gem has been checking on him while he sleeps. The two open up to each other about how they're feeling and Iain is happy to receive an update that Frankie is well before going back to bed. At work, seeing Katy struggling with a call Iain asks to step in. Laura is reluctant as it's a suicide risk but Iain persists and realises that it's PC Rox clinging to the side of a bridge. Laura warns Iain to be cautious but he throws out the rule book and is honest, knowing exactly how Rox feels. He learns that when Rox went into the warehouse alone, she ruined a 9 month sting operation and also feels responsible for injuring the rapid responder, Katy's fiancé, who went on to lose a leg. Calling on his own experience, Iain tries to make Rox see that sometimes everything can go wrong on the job and she is not be blame. Iain sheds a tear as he implores her to be brave and face her demons. He finally breathes a sigh of relief when they hear that Rox has decided to give herself a second chance and has accepted help. With some of what he said starting to sink in, Iain reaches out to Claire. Finally admitting to the work that needs to be done, Iain decides to go back to therapy. Iain returns to the ED and meets Frankie. She gives him a big hug and lets him know that social services have gotten involved and she and her sister will be ok. Content with a job well done, Iain takes Gem home ready to work towards another day.

BBC3 Presents...This series follows top flight football club West Ham United Women's team and their 18-year-old Managing Director Jack Sullivan. As women's football explodes into the mainstream in the run-up to this summer's World Cup, Jack's dad David Sullivan, one of the richest men in Britain and the joint-Chairman of West Ham United, has tasked Jack with transforming the fortunes of the women's team. Filming on and off the pitch, with episodes released as the season progresses, the series follows the progress of the squad as they debut in the all-new, fully-professional Women's Super League, competing at the highest level of the women's game, against some of the toughest teams in the world. Jack's first full-time job since leaving school at 16 sees him bringing together a squad of 18 outspoken, powerful women, overseeing a million pound budget, and trying to raise the profile of a growing sport often dismissed and derided by male fans. With exclusive access to the club, players and backroom staff, as well as to Jack and his larger-than-life family, this revealing and inspiring behind-the-scenes story discovers just what it takes to be a professional female footballer in today's game, and whether a loveable but inexperienced teenager can change the face of women's football. Approaching the halfway point of the season and with his team sitting uncomfortably close to the bottom of the table, Jack and West Ham United's Women gear up for a make-or-break run of games throughout December. An already extravagant time of year has the potential to become even more expensive for Jack as the looming January transfer window may require him to reach for his chequebook and splash out on new players, a move that could have serious consequences for one squad member in particular.
